In the editorial in the Dec. 28 paper you state, "Businesses like Food-4-Less and Target could generate hundreds of jobs for Imperial Valley residents."
They could but they won't unless they are forced to do so.
If you are as observant as I think you are, you have seen that they, big business, always bring their trained work force with them and ignore the local people who are trying to find work to support their needy families. I hope that you can persuade the City Council to require that they make up at least 75 percent of their work force with present Imperial Valley residents.
That is a lot more important than any amount of extra money the big business might bring to the city.
