Brawley police make several weekend drug arrests

BRAWLEY — Brawley police made several narcotics arrests over the weekend.

Brawley police Lt. Henry Graham said Enrique Garcia Cruz, 29, of Brawley was arrested by police for carrying a small amount of narcotics about 5 p.m. Friday.

Cruz was stopped by police in the 1000 block of Main Street. Cruz was carrying a small amount of a drug but information on what kind of narcotic or how much he was carrying was not available. Cruz was in the county jail today with bail set at $10,000.

In a non-related incident, several individuals were interviewed by police in the 600 block of South Olive St. around 3 a.m. Saturday.

Graham said four of the people, including a 16-year-old juvenile, were arrested for possession of a narcotic.

Monica Fuñez, 26, John Ybarra, 28, and Marilyn Gonzalez, 20, all of Brawley, also were arrested and were being held in the county jail with bail set at $10,000 for each. Information on the whereabouts of the juvenile was not available, nor was information available about the drugs confiscated from the four.
