IVSL ends regular season

The Imperial Valley Soccer League men's open division played the last games of the regular season last week and eight teams are ready to move into the finals.

The final eight teams are Boca Juniors, in first place with 28 points, Napoles, second place with 23 points, Inter in third place with 21 points, Panteras in fourth place with 19 points, Aguilas de Calexico in fifth place with 16 points, Santos in sixth with 14 points, Juventus in seventh with 12 points and Morelia in eighth place with eight points.

The three teams eliminated were Real Madrid, Galaxy and Calexico Chivas.

The quarterfinals will pit Boca Juniors against Morelia on Thursday, Napoles against Juventus on Wednesday, Inter against Santos on Thursday and Panteras against Aguilas on Friday. All games are at 8 p.m. at Swarthout Park in El Centro.

If any game ends in a tie the team with the highest ranking continues in the tournament.

The results for the last week of play were: Morelia 1, Juventus 1; Panteras 1, Aguilas 1; Santos 3, Real Madrid 0; Inter 4, Galaxy 3; and Calexico Chivas 0, Napoles 1. Boca Juniors had a bye.
