IMPERIAL — Led by tournament most valuable player Randy Andrews, Wilson Junior High rallied for a 33-30 win over Barbara Worth Junior High in the seventh annual Frank Wright Intermediate School eighth-grade boys basketball tournament here over the weekend.
Andrews finished with 11 points for the El Centro squad, while teammate Felix Reyes added 11. Wilson fought back from a 20-13 halftime deficit to get the win. James Haley led the Brawley-based Barbara Worth with 13 points.
In the third-place game Blythe topped Imperial's Frank Wright 38-27. Terry McCoy led Blythe with 13 points. Daniel Ponce had 11 points and Max Ortega added 10 for Frank Wright.
Kennedy Middle School of El Centro won the consolation title in a 30-26 verdict over Seeley. Eduardo Santiago led Kennedy with 24 points. Kris Jeffries paced Seeley with six.
