A non-injury accident occurred Thursday afternoon when a Canadian traveling west on Interstate 8 crashed his vehicle.

January 23, 2001

California Highway Patrol spokesman José Salazar said Jeremy C. Armstrong, 22, of London, Ontario, somehow turned away from his line of travel and hit a dirt bank, causing major damage to his vehicle's front end.

Salazar said information on the speed at which Armstrong was traveling was unavailable.

The 3:56 p.m. accident just east of Fourth Street in El Centro caused the vehicle's air bag to deploy. There were no other people in the vehicle.

No other information was available on the accident.
