Several hurt in crash, rollover

BRAWLEY — Several Brawley men sustained minor injuries Monday morning after the van in which they were riding was struck by a pickup north of here and overturned.

Danielle Linares, 35, of Salton City, was driving her pickup east on Bannister Road about 8:30 a.m. Monday when she apparently missed a stop sign and struck a van at about 50 mph, according to a press release from the California Highway Patrol.

Jose Rodriguez, 35, of Brawley, was driving the van north on Kalin Road when his van was struck by Linares' pickup and overturned.

His passengers, Jose Mercado, 26, Rosendo Hernan, 19, Jose Villatoro, 36, and Hippolito Oriano, 20, all of Brawley, sustained minor injuries. All four were taken to Pioneers Memorial Hospital in Brawley. Rodriguez was not injured.

Linares sustained minor injuries but opted to seek medical aid on her own, according to the Highway Patrol.
