Fair performers sought

January 23, 2001

The 45th Agricultural Association is seeking local performers for the 2001 California Mid-Winter Fair & Fiesta.

Deadline for submitting applications is Jan. 26. Performers will be notified of their participation in the fair by Feb. 9.

The fair will start March 2 and continue through March 11 at the Imperial Valley Expo in Imperial.

This year's theme is "Fiesta ‘Til The Cows Come Home!"

Holly B. Young, special programs coordinator for the fair, is heading the search for local performers.

"We are looking for singers, dancers, musicians, athletes, martial arts, comedians, actors, school bands, cheerleaders, choral groups and more," Young said. "The fair's main objective is to educate fairgoers and showcase the talent of its citizens."

Groups or individual performers need to fill out an application and agreement form available at the fair offices on the Expo grounds at 200 E. 2nd St. in Imperial. All performances must be appropriate for family viewing.
