BRAWLEY — This city's Main Street will soon undergo reconstruction.
A 10-mile strip of highways 86 and 78 from the New River Bridge west of the city to the Highway 78 and 115 split east of the city will undergo what the California Department of Transportation is calling a "pavement-rehabilitation project."
"The work is part of Caltrans' regular preventative maintenance work," said Caltrans Resident Engineer Sandro Bermudez.
Bermudez said the work would consist of removal of three inches of the road surfaces to be replaced by new asphalt in a reconstruction project that will take about two months.
Caltrans warned the City Council on Tuesday of the road construction, and the City Council requested a presentation at its next regular council meeting.
