Thank You: Woman hurt in car accident extends thanks for all the help

February 13, 2001

On Jan. 10 I sustained major injuries in a car accident and was hospitalized for eight days in Pioneers Memorial Hospital. I would like to thank some special people for their kindness and assistance: Dr. Kuraitis, Dr. Dabage and Jami Tucker, who were at the scene when the accident occurred, for their assistance and comfort; the Brawley Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance Service for their prompt arrival, extricating me from my car and medical treatment; the Brawley Police Department, for their quick response; Dr. Young Lee, emergency room physician, for his excellent care and prompt diagnosis of my injuries; Dr. Norman Baron, surgeon, for his wonderful treatment during my admission; Clyde Carson, PMH patient relations, who located the entire contents of my purse (we all know the importance of that!); Dr. Stone and Dr. Cope, radiologists, and the X-ray technicians who performed my exams, for their wonderful care and kindness; all the R.N.s and CNAs who cared for me so well during my stay; the PMH employee assistance committee for their donation to help with expenses, and the entire PMH staff for their kindness and excellent care; the Centinela State Prison staff who donated sick leave credits, (as I am a recent employee) and who either provided baked goods and other food items for sale or purchased them as a fund-raiser to help with my expenses; everyone who called, visited or sent flowers, plants or cards; and last, but certainly not least, my wonderful family, for all their love and support during this difficult time.

I am now recuperating at home and hope to be well and back to work soon. You never know how many friends you have and how many truly good people there are in this world until something like this happens. I hope I didn't forget anyone and I just want to thank everyone so much!
