El Centro narcotics detectives arrested a man as he left his house Friday morning and then executed a search warrant at the house.

David Alonzo Hernandez, 29, was arrested after police reportedly found more than three ounces of rock methamphetamine on him and at his home at 874 Pico Road, said El Centro police Lt. Paul Longoria.

Longoria said Hernandez was arrested as he left the house about 9 a.m. Narcotics detectives brought him back to the house and searched the residence.

Longoria said detectives also found packaging materials and over $500 in cash.

Hernandez was booked into the county jail on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance for sale and transporting a controlled substance. He remained in custody Saturday with his bail set at $25,000
