Thank You: SweethART Dance plaudits extended

February 17, 2001

On behalf of the staff and board of directors of the Imperial County Arts Council and all of the Imperial Valley residents who benefit from the cultural services we provide to the community, I would like to express my utmost gratitude to everyone who made our inaugural SweethART Dance a success.

First of all, we would like to thank our sponsors, Clark Baker Music, Duflock and Associates, Pepsi, Valley Independent Bank, Vons, Jim Kuhn, American Linen, Bill and Joe Colace at Five Crowns Produce, The Student's Art Association, Imperial Valley College and numerous anonymous donors. It is the consistent generosity of these businesses and individuals that give our organization the mobility to extend our cultural embrace to the people we serve.

The entertainment was awesome. Even Cupid shook, rattled and rolled to the sounds of Jimmie Cannon's Valley Jazz. The band dazzled the guests with a mixed repertoire of favorite songs and set the tone for an unforgettable evening.

The Korean War Veterans Association, Chapter 102 girls' color guard under Mike Singh's supervision, whose professionalism impressed us all, provided security for the event.

And of course there are many others who assisted in the setup, cleanup and at the event itself; your efforts are greatly appreciated.

We are looking forward to our second annual SweetART Dance set for Feb. 9, 2002, so mark your calendar and join us in celebrating our love for art.
