IVSL finishes third week of play

The Imperial Valley Soccer League adult division finished its third week of play with Boca Juniors on top of the standings.

On Feb. 14, Juventus beat Aguilas 5-1.

Ramon Muñoz and Julian Garcia both scored a goal for Juventus while Gilmer Sanchez scored three. Juan Sanchez scored the Aguilas' only goal.

Napoles beat Inter F.C. 9-1 Feb. 14.

Juan Romo scored one for Napoles, Aldo Perez scored four and Alonzo Garcia and Jorge Gallegos both scored two.

One game was played last Thursday as Morelia beat Galaxy 5-1.

Mario Trujillo and Omar Arevalos scored one each for Morelia while Hector Dorame scored three. Moises Garcia scored Galaxy's only goal.

Friday's games were high scoring as Boca Juniors beat Santos 9-2.

Jorge Varela and Eduardo Vega both scored three and Antonio Terrazas and Omar Martinez both scored one for Boca Juniors. Ruben Hernandez and Charlie Mendez both scored for Santos and Erick Ramirez scored an own goal.


In the second game Friday Panteras beat Real Madrid 8-0.

Rigoberto Vega, Francisco Lopez, Francisco Cervantez and Carlos Sanchez all scored one goal while Sergio German and Rodolfo Ochoa each scored two.

Going into Wednesday's games, Boca Juniors was in first place with nine points. Santos, Panteras and Napoles were tied for second with six points each. Juventus and Morelia had four points and Real Madrid and Inter F.C. had three. Aguilas and Galaxy had no points.

This week Aguilas faces Napoles and Santos plays Juventus, Inter F.C. faces Boca Juniors, Panteras plays Morelia while Galaxy squares off with Real Madrid.

All games are at 8 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at Swarthout Park in El Centro.
