BRAWLEY — An El Centro man was arrested by county Sheriff's Office deputies Friday on suspicion of attempted homicide after he allegedly stabbed two men during an argument that morning.

Arrested was 35-year-old Rodney Andrews of El Centro. He was booked into the county jail Friday, sheriff's investigator Sgt. Pompeyo Tabarez said.

Andrews and Joseph Wayne Griffin, 25, had a verbal disagreement around 6 a.m. at the site of Reliance Construction at 56 E. Shank Road in Brawley.

Myrick Hamilton, 24, entered the argument, which developed into a physical altercation, said Tabarez.

Hamilton and Griffin were transported to Pioneers Memorial Hospital in Brawley with multiple stab wounds to their upper bodies.

Hamilton and Griffin apparently are from Florida, Tabarez said, adding both men were under medication for their injuries and hadn't been able to provide much information to deputies.

Andrews sustained injuries to his hand during the altercation.

No further details were available into the stabbings Friday as the investigation into the incident is continuing, Tabarez said.
