This letter is in regard to the recent article about our wonderful Sen. Feinstein's efforts to make the Bush administration aware of the problems we have been having with the pollution in the New River.
For some of us who've been around for awhile, this is an all-too-familiar story. Every once in awhile our senators and/or so- called leaders send out news clips of their concerns and efforts (so-called beating one's chest or rattling of swords) to let their poor constituents know they are thinking of them and someting is definetely going to be done this time, by God!
How pathetic it has become for us to be hoping against hope that maybe this time something will actually happen? As I have found myself saying more often now, I'll believe it when I see it knocking on my door.
I for one am not holding my breath. It takes a calamity to make something happen in Washington, and Feinstein is just blowing wind at us like all the politicians in the past have done. (Both Republicans and Democrats share this blame.)
