I went to the Farmers Market in El Centro on Saturday with three of my four daughters in tow. As I negotiated a multi-snow cone purchase with my sister, Jennifer, who was handling things at Turning Point's snow cone stand, my youngest, Sara (age 3) disappeared. I'm sure every parent knows the panic and desperation I was feeling when I couldn't locate her within a few seconds and worse after a few minutes. I spotted my other sister, Nicolle, and attached Emily and Larissa to her so I could run in a circle even faster and be even less effective at finding Sara.
That's when I saw one young girl in security uniform running west and talking into her radio. I stopped her and started to explain but she cut me off and told me a little girl had been found running alone and crying. My heart soared when I looked west and saw at least seven security staff marching up the street in show of force, one of them carrying the elusive Sara.
