Thank you so much for the front-page article in last week's newspaper about the cancer workshops at First Christian Church in El Centro and St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Holtville.
We had a wonderful response from both churches as well as the community.
Many people walked away with new insight about cancer as well as resources available in the Imperial Valley.
Between Women Y-Me enjoyed working with the American Cancer Society, A Place of Angels, Pioneers Health Center and the Imperial County Public Health Department
I'd like to also thank Elizabeth Arizpe and Patti Medina for their participation with the Comadre program presented in the Spanish workshop that was underwritten by Valley Independent Bank. Laurie Vandergriff and Michelle Torres made their presentation to teens at the teen awareness and education workshop.
The goal and motto for Between Women Y-Me is, "No woman should face breast cancer alone." By continuing these workshops in our valley, we can feel confident our goal will be met. Thank you for your hard work and time.
