Eagles win, Spartans fall

HOLTVILLE — The Southwest High School golf team topped Holtville 210-239 in a rain-soaked match at Barbara Worth Golf Resort here Tuesday.

Ty Yturralde led the Eagles, carding a 40. Matt Mouser and Bobby Kirby each shot 41s for Southwest. Trevor Tagg and Cameron Bucher each fired a 44 for the Eagles.

J.B. Borchard led the Vikings with a 43. He was followed by Preston George (45), Caleb Sanders (46), Skyler Peeks (52) and Crosby Johnson (53).

The Eagles will next tee it up at 1 p.m. Thursday against Calexico at the Barbara Worth Golf Resort. The Vikings will be back in action at 1 p.m. Thursday at Borrego Springs.

Palm Desert 203, Central 213

PALM DESERT — Despite an outstanding performance by Ivan Haro, the Central Union High golf team fell to Palm Desert 203-213 here Monday.

Haro led the Spartans with a 36, which was par for nine holes on the course. Mario Luna shot a 39 for Central. Beau Carson carded a 43, Bernie Lynn a 48 and Jake Beard a 47.

Central will be back on the links at 2:30 today against La Quinta at Borrego Springs.
