Voice: Homosexuals must turn away from their sin

March 09, 2001

This letter is in response to the letter written by Dominic Signorotti that appeared in the March 1 paper.

I am not a Catholic but I agree with the Catholic Church and the Bible that homosexuality is wrong. Mr. Signorotti failed to point out any Scripture where Jesus or any other writer in the Bible said it was OK. The Bible does point to several Scriptures where the practice of homosexuality is wrong and sinful. May I take this opportunity to point out in Scripture my case.

Leviticus 18:22: Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.

Leviticus 20:13: if a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable.

There is several other verses in the Old Testament but to save room on this letter I will jump to the New Testament.

Paul under inspiration from the Holy Spirit wrote that homosexuality was wrong in Romans 1:26-27 and in 1Timothy 1:10.

Then the most disappointing thing to homosexuals is they will not be allowed into the Kingdom of Heaven as pointed out in Revelation 21:8: But the cowardly the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars — their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.

My hope for all gay people is that they will open their minds and Bible and read the book of John and Romans so they can turn away from their sin and then do as Jesus would do.
