Brawley golfers top Coachella

BRAWLEY — The Brawley Union High School golf team knocked off Coachella 202-230 at Del Rio Country Club here Thursday.

Garrett Fargo led the Wildcats with a 37. Adam Schmitt carded a 38, Jordan Tucker shot a 40, Michael Quick shot a 43 and Brian Emanuelli had a 44 for Brawley.

"We got back on the right track," said Brawley coach Scott Phillips. "We're shooting a little better."

The Wildcats won the varsity ‘B' match 212-279. Adrian Martinez led the ‘B' team with a 39.

Brawley will return to the links at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Palm Desert.

Imperial 261,

Warner Springs 291

WARNER SPRINGS — The Imperial High golf team picked up its first win of the season defeating Warner Springs 261-291 at Warner Springs Ranch here Thursday.


Leading Imperial was Kerry Kjartensson with a 40 followed by Isaiah Gonzales shooting a 50. Lance Havens and Shawn Gutierrez both carded 55s and Ben Talancon rounded things out with a 61.

The Tigers (1-1) will play Guajome Park Academy at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Fallbrook Golf Club.
