BRAWLEY — Low-rider and custom car enthusiasts will gather here for the Rostros Car Club of Imperial Valley third annual Primavera Car Show.

The car club, along with the Hidalgo Society of Brawley, are sponsoring the show, which will feature customized cars and bicycles.

The car show will start at 10:30 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. on Saturday on Wiest Field behind the Lions Center swimming pool in Brawley. The show will have a car-hopping contest, bikini and hard-body contests, booths and music.

Gilbert Vallarta, vice president for the Rostros club, said, "Each year has been getting bigger and better and we're hoping for a good turnout."

He said car clubs from Yuma, Blythe, Coachella, Calexico, Mexicali and other areas will compete in different categories in the car show and car-hopping contest. There will be contests for low-rider bicycles.

Performers will offer entertainment for the crowd. Lock-N-Load, a Brawley rap group, will perform and Doghouse DJ of Brawley will provide music during the events.

The main musical feature will be Wicked Minds and Wicked Minds Crew of Los Angeles, which will perform at the car show. A Juan Gabriel impersonator also will perform.

This year's show will be the first with an admission fee. It will be $5 for adults, $2 for children 6 to 12 years old and free for children under 6.

Contestants can still enter the show by calling Rostros Car Club president Fernando Soto at 344-3950 or Vallarta at 344-2448.
