Voice: Going to Heber school board meeting an eye-opener

March 27, 2001

I recently attended my first school board meeting and to my astonishment was very displeased with what these people are doing to our community and children.

There is no respect or trust between them. There were several occasions during the meeting when there were unpleasant words said to one another. There was even one moment (the high point of the meeting) where the school board president actually told the superintendent that she did not trust her, in front of all the parents in attendance.

I cannot believe that we actually trust these people to voice the community's opinions. This truly opened my eyes and those of several other parents to how important it is for us as parents to attend these meetings.
