Brawley girl swimmers win again

INDIO — The Brawley Union High School girls swim team continued its season-long roll with a 120-48 win over Indio here Tuesday.

Lauren Roberts scored four wins for the Wildcats (5-0). She took the 200 freestyle (2 minutes 15.77 seconds), 50 freestyle (27.82) and with help from Stephanie Luckey, Brooke Pace, Jennifer Cardenas took the 200 medley relay (2:04.81). Roberts teamed with Maryann Wenzel, Camay Plunkett and Tracy King to win the 200 free relay (1:54.72).

Luckey earned two more wins for Brawley. She took the 500 freestyle (6:20.87) and the 100 backstroke (1:13.12). Cardenas won the 200 individual medley (2:29.93) and teamed with Wenzel, King and Brooke Pace to win the 400 free relay (4:08.57). King took the 100 butterfly (1:12.09). Pace won the 100 freestyle (58.91) and the 100 breaststroke (1:14.12).

The Brawley boys fell to the Rajahs 98-70.

Spencer Kellogg scored three wins for the Wildcats (3-2).

He won the 50 freestyle (24.22) and the 100 freestyle (57.15) and teamed with Jeremy Schmidt, Mark McConnell and Robby Overstreet to win the 400 freestyle relay (4:04.57). Overstreet won the 100 breaststroke (1:13.03).

Brawley returns to action at 4 p.m. Thursday at Southwest in El Centro.
