HOLTVILLE — The Holtville Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring its annual Easter Egg Hunt at 9 a.m. Saturday in Holt Park.

The hunt will be open to children ages 5 to 12. Many special prizes will be given to youngsters finding "special" eggs.

Del Sol Market is donating 100 dozen eggs for the event. Holtville Athletic Club members will again be in charge of coloring the eggs. The eggs will be hidden Saturday morning by members of the Holtville police Explorer Post 600 under the direction of Holtville police Officer Hector Zamora.

The local Easter bunny, billed for many years as the world's largest Easter bunny, has outgrown his bunny suit. Standing in for the town's beloved former bunny will be newly named Holtville Police Chief Charlie Simpson.

"I feel honored that they asked me to do this," Simpson said. "I know I am going to have fun."
