Golf: Tigers shoot past Warner

BRAWLEY — The Imperial High School golf team improved to 4-2 in Desert Mountain League play with a 234-307 win over Warner Springs at the Del Rio Country Club here Tuesday.

Leading Imperial (4-3 overall) were Kjarri Kjartensson and Isaiah Gonzales, both shooting 41s. Lance Havins and Ben Talancon both carded 50s for the Tigers. Shawn Gutierrez rounded things out for Imperial with a 52.

Imperial will play at 2 p.m. April 17 at Julian.

Brawley 445,

Chula Vista 585

BRAWLEY — The Brawley Union High golf team downed Chula Vista 445-585 at the Del Rio Country Club here Tuesday.

Leading Brawley with an 80 was Adrian Martinez. He was followed by an 85 from teammate Brian Gelesko. Ryan Mamer shot a 91 for Brawley with Taylor Smith carding a 94. Preston Soto added a 95 for the Wildcats.

Brawley will play Southwest High at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Barbara Worth Golf Resort near Holtville.


Holtville 436, Julian 545

WARNER SPRINGS — The Holtville High School golf team stopped Julian 436-545 here Tuesday.

Preston George led the Vikings with a 76. J.B. Borchard carded an 82, Caleb Sandin shot a 91, Steven Hawk a 92 and James Hawk a 95.

Julian was led by Ryan Dawson's 94.

The Vikings (7-4) will be back in action at 1 p.m. Thursday at Barbara Worth Golf Resort against Calipatria.

Vincent Memorial 238, Guajome Park 318

FALLBROOK — The Vincent Memorial High School golf team knocked off Guajome Park 238-318 here Tuesday.

Jose Lopez led the Scots (5-0) with a 44. Rudy Cabanas and Frederico Diaz each shot 45. Dominic Jacobelli carded a 51 and Alejandro Roldan fired a 53 for Vincent.

The Scots return to the links at 3:15 p.m. Thursday at Lakeview Golf Course near Seeley against Warner.
