Voice: Wal-Mart more expensive in Calexico, so why a Super Wal-Mart?

April 13, 2001

I have not figured out why no one has mentioned the fact that the Wal-Mart in Calexico is higher on its prices than the one in El Centro. I priced a bicycle seat once and it was $5 higher. I next checked cat food, which was also higher. Why would the Wal-Mart next to the border (where the people are poorer) be more expensive?

Do they not realize they are being ripped off? They don't deserve to have a Super Wal-Mart when they are charging higher prices to the customer than the El Centro Wal-Mart. What is their reason for this?
