Members of the Imperial Valley Chapter of the Blue Knights of California gave 20 Easter baskets filled with toys and candy to children in the pediatrics, obstetrics and emergency departments Saturday morning at El Centro Regional Medical Center.
The Blue Knights, a motorcycle club, sponsors several charities throughout the year.
The group's membership consists of peace officers from various city police departments, U.S Customs Service and the state Corrections Department.
This is the second year the Blue Knights have distributed Easter baskets to local youth. Last year's effort took place at the Betty Jo McNeece Receiving Home, the county's home for abused, abandoned or neglected children.
The club's Imperial Valley chapter is affiliated with the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Clubs of America.
