HOLTVILLE — The county Coroner's Office will wait until a physical examination Tuesday to identify why a man found in a canal near here Saturday died.
James Felton Little, 89, was found dead in a canal in front of his residence near the 1900 block of Barbara Worth Road on Saturday afternoon, county Chief Deputy Coroner Sgt. Rick Macken said.
Sheriff's Office log records indicate there were 2 to 3 feet of water in the canal.
There was no indication of foul play, Macken said.
It is not known how Little died or how he fell into the canal, Macken said, adding an autopsy scheduled for Tuesday may answer those questions.
