Cathedral City woman injured in highway rollover

April 18, 2001|By KELLY GRANT, Staff Writer

WESTMORLAND — A Cathedral City woman sustained moderate injuries Tuesday when the car in which she was traveling rolled on Highway 86 northwest of here.

Ramona Godinez, 49, of Cathedral City was driving north on Highway 86 south of Allen Road in the left lane, according to a California Highway Patrol press release. The accident occurred around 4:55 p.m.

Godinez allowed her vehicle to drift left into the dirt median, the Highway Patrol stated, and subsequently lost control after she attempted to overcorrect.

The Highway Patrol states she lost control when she abruptly steered to the right to return to the roadway, went across the northbound lanes and onto the east shoulder, where her vehicle overturned and rolled.
