Voice: Kofford's columns far from filler

full of wit and wisdom

April 23, 2001

I believe that everyone's opinion is valid. I do respect C.R. Waegner's right to express his/her view of Bret Kofford's columns in the Imperial Valley Press (April 12). However, I cannot resist stating that I do not consider his work "filler." In fact, his columns are to me the best part of the paper because they are full of topical news and opinions, humanism, wit and, yes, wisdom.

Sometimes they make me laugh so hard I cry; sometimes they compel me to look inside myself; often they make me ponder our society or smile about human nature.

I cannot wait for the Wednesday paper and try to get it before anyone else does so that I can be informed, intellectually challenged or amused. Bret never disappoints me.
