Rider injured when motorcycle collides with car

CALEXICO — A motorcycle rider sustained minor injuries Wednesday after he collided with a car on Imperial Avenue here on Wednesday evening.

Jaime Avila, 29, of Calexico, was transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center for treatment of cuts to his hand, abrasions to his knees and complaints of pain to his wrist, said Calexico police Officer H. Cardenas.

Cardenas, who investigated the accident, said Avila was traveling north on Imperial Avenue around 5:43 p.m. when his motorcycle collided with a car turning south onto Imperial from a driveway at 1710 Imperial Ave.

The motorcycle hit the car in its left rear side.

The car's driver, Edmundo Bucio, 19, and passenger, Sandra Elizabeth Villa, 19, both of Calexico, were uninjured, Cardenas said.
