For a number of years I worked as a volunteer for The Salvation Army under administrators Maj. Moses Reyes and then Capt. Luis Diaz.
Therefore, I believe something needs to be said of The Salvation Army today.
Recently I went to The Salvation Army thrift store on Park Avenue. I was shocked to see there is no organization and a catastrophe. Contributions are stacked, stepped on and thrown around. People were bringing in contributions and just dropping them. There is no form or organization.
The divisional office should do something. It could be a Christian act if The Salvation Army would just advise people they are unable to handle any more contributions at this time and suggest they give to WomenHaven at this time.
I would like to suggest the city take an interest and write the divisional office and advise them to get their act together or nothing will get done here. Also it looks like its time for the Fire Department to inspect.
