April 30, 2001|By RUDY YNIGUEZ, Staff Writer

The county Board of Supervisors will be asked to approve a $118,000 state bicycle transportation grant request for the county's master bike plan.

The board meets in open session at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the County Administration Center, 940 W. Main St., El Centro.

In other business, the board:

· will be asked to approve five claims and deny one against the excess proceeds of property tax sales.

When tax-defaulted properties are sold at the tax collector's public auction, the proceeds are distributed according to the provisions of state law. If after the distribution there are proceeds remaining, the former owner has one year to file a claim for the excess proceeds, according to a county staff report.

· will be asked to approve and accept the county's general purpose financial statements for the year ended June 30, 2000.

· will be asked to approve a resolution amending the Salton Sea Authority joint powers agreement to shift the authority's accounting duties from the county of Riverside to the authority.

· will be asked to declare May as mental health month.
