The 15-year-old boy in custody following a traffic accident Friday in which he crashed while allegedly driving a stolen car will face charges from the District Attorney's Office, according to county Chief Probation Officer Mike Kelley.

However, Kelley declined to release the specific charges and officials from the D.A.'s office were unavailable for comment.

It is likely few details will be released on any charges because the matter involves a juvenile, according to one staffer in the D.A.'s office.

One charge was expected to be related to the alleged auto theft.

The case involves a 15-year-old Imperial boy who reportedly was driving a stolen car when he crashed on Haskell Road near Havens Road west of El Centro.

Four passengers in the car, ranging in age from 15 to 26, and all of Imperial, were injured.

The most severely hurt was 15-year-old Marcos Dominguez, who remained in critical condition this morning at University of California San Diego Medical Center after suffering head injuries.

Few other details were available, including whether the 15-year-old driver had a learner's permit, and to whom the car he was driving belonged.

The boy remained in juvenile hall today and could face a detention hearing today, Kelley said.
