LOWELL "JO" WINTER

Funeral services were at 10 today in Frye Chapel & Mortuary in Brawley for Lowell "Jo" Winter, 93, of Brawley, who died Saturday in her home. The Rev. David Conrad of First United Methodist Church of Brawley officiated.

Burial was in Riverview Cemetery in Brawley.

Mrs. Winter was born Aug. 13, 1907, in Itasca, Texas. She attended schools in Itasca and graduated from Texas Women's University in Denton.

She married Loyd B. Winter in Cleburne, Texas, on Oct. 4, 1931. Shortly thereafter, the Winters moved to the Imperial Valley. Mrs. Winter worked primarily as a secretary for the Brawley Elementary School District for many years.

She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Brawley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd B. Winter, on Oct. 29, 1995.

Survivors include her sisters-in-law, Juanita Dyer of Tyler, Texas, and Rhodes A. Dyer of Cleburne; and nephews, James E. Dyer of Marshall, Texas, Gary Dyer of Henderson, Texas, and Larry W. Dyer of Granburg, Texas.

The family suggests memorials be sent to the First United Methodist Church of Brawley, 133 K St., Brawley, CA 92227.
