Body discovered in All-American by IID employees

CALEXICO — Imperial Irrigation District employees found the body of a man this morning in the All-American Canal here.

County Coroner Investigator Gary Hayes said he thinks the body had been in the canal about five days.

The body was found at 7:20 a.m. in the canal near Anza and Hammers roads.

Hayes there were no signs of foul play, and based on the way the individual was dressed, it did not appear the man was trying to cross the border illegally.

He said the man was wearing shorts and shoes with no socks. There was no identification on the body.

The man was thought to be between age 20 and 30.
