Brawley swimmers conclude season at section finals

SAN DIEGO —The Brawley Union High School swim team's season ended at the San Diego Section finals at Mount Carmel High here Saturday.

"I was really happy with the way everybody did," said Wildcat coach D'Ann Luckey. "The season was incredible and to have us compete in five different events at the end-of-the-season meet was incredible. This was a great finish to the whole season."

The Wildcats best finish came from their girls 200-meter medley relay team, which took sixth. The team of Stephanie Luckey, Brooke Pace, Jennifer Cardenas and Lauren Roberts finished in 2 minutes 1.15 seconds.

Pace took eighth in the 100 breaststroke (1:13.20), Cardenas was ninth in the 100 butterfly (1:0.19) and Roberts was 11th in the 50 freestyle (27.59).

The team of Cardenas, Denae Smith, Marianne Wenzel and Pace took 11th in the 400 relay (4:03.29).
