My name is Ben Malan and I am in the Boy Scouts of America. To become an Eagle Scout I was required to organize and carry out a project that benefited the community.
My project was to paint over the graffiti on some of the city trash bins in Brawley. For my project, I gathered donations of paint and painting supplies from local businesses. I would like to thank the following for helping me in my project: Imperial Stores, Imperial Valley Lumber, Sears, Brawley public works and Valley Paint Center.
I also want to thank those youth and adults who helped with the actual painting. Without the help of these people, my project would not have been possible.
To this day, I look back on my trail to Eagle and have absolutely no regrets. Since I am a Boy Scout, I have been able to go several places and do many things (like snow skiing and canoeing) that I otherwise would never have done. Thank you to everyone who has helped me along my trail to Eagle and who continues to help develop the next generation.
