The Imperial Valley's third annual World No Tobacco Day celebration will be in Bucklin Park in El Centro from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
The theme for this year's World No Tobacco Day, "Secondhand Smoke Kills — Let's Clear the Air," was designated by the World Health Organization to raise awareness of the hazards of exposure to secondhand smoke.
Hosted by the Imperial County Tobacco Education Project, with the help of Teens Against Tobacco and the Coalition for a Tobacco Free Imperial County, whose focus is to prevent and reduce tobacco use among youth and adults in our community as well as reduce exposure to secondhand smoke for all residents.
Entertainment, food booths, games, music, prizes and giveaways will be included for the entire family to enjoy.
Local community health and service agencies will be participating and the El Centro Fire Department will be spraying water to cool youths and adults under the sun.
