Due to the efforts of 35 volunteers, the inaugural graffiti paint-out day was a greater success than I imagined. Through the efforts of the Imperial Boy Scout troop and Imperial PAL, we wee able to cover approximately 70 areas that had been vandalized.
I would like to send a special thanks to Rosie and Samantha Bermudez who were a tremendous help along with Robin Alvarez and David DeLeon.
Without the help of Becca and Dennis Singh, Pauline Shores, Ernesto Leonhardt, troop leader Nick Wendell and all the Imperial police officers, this day would not have been nearly as successful.
As with all major projects it is the help of support personnel who make the difference. Roni and Steve Moore did a wonderful job of preparing the lunch and Isabel Alvarez kept me as organized as possible. Despite a few setbacks such as the heat and the beehive, it was a tremendous effort by all participants.
