CALEXICO — The body of a 16-year-old boy was pulled from the All-American Canal east of here Tuesday.
The boy had been swimming in the All-American on Sunday, said county Coroner Investigator Gary Hayes.
The boy was found by Mexicali fire crews about 4 p.m. near Barbara Worth and Anza roads.
Hayes said he was called to the scene, checked the body for signs of foul play and then released the body to Mexican authorities.
He had last been seen swimming in the All-American. Friends said he went under the water and did not surface.
