Voice: McNeece provided no solutions to education crisis

June 15, 2001

Brian McNeece's long-winded response to President Bush's philosophy of not wanting to leave any child behind in education is all over the map. Brian talks that Bush has an undertone that points a finger at him for not doing his job, then McNeece himself states that few children want to learn anyway, instead opting for the video arcade.

Brian, there is nothing threatening about what President Bush has said. It's as easy a concept as Nancy Reagan and her "just say no," which drove liberals up the wall because it just wasn't enough.

The dumbing down of America has been with us for years and it is NOT working in our schools. You said it yourself, "does the Bush plan provide for those who don't want to race?"

Well, as it appears you have little faith in our kids, what do you propose? (Raises for teachers is not an answer.)
