The Southwest Booster Club's bleacher project is finished. The final check has been delivered. The bleachers at Eagle Field are paid for.
Members of the booster club worked together these past two years raising $120,000 to pay for a thousand seats — supplementing the 750 that were part of the original school plan. Because of the generosity of parents and Imperial Valley businesses that recognized a need to complete the Southwest High School home field, the facility is now being utilized by our community as well as the students.
The Southwest Booster Club is proud to have a partnership with "the school by the freeway" and proud to be an important part of the school's history. Southwest's class of 2001 elected to be the first class to hold graduation ceremonies at Eagle Field.
Permanent bronze plaques recognizing the following major contributors will soon be installed: Southwest Booster Club, Steve and Brenda Scaroni, Val-Rock, Inc., Imperial Irrigation District, Kiwanis Club of El Centro, Valley Independent Bank, Central Union High School District, Pepsi-Cola of Imperial Valley, Southwest Associated Student Body and the Southwest class of 1999.
