CALEXICO — Gustavo Rios of Second Street ran to the police station with drops of blood trickling from his chest.

His brother cut him during a family fight, he told Calexico police.

That fight happened Thursday when Francisco Rios attempted to break into their mother's room, according to Gustavo Rios.

Gustavo Rios told police when he tried to stop his brother, his brother pulled a knife and held it to his chest, saying, "I'm going to make life miserable for you."

Gustavo Rios was cut but not deeply by the knife, according to police.

When officers responded to the Second Street address where the brothers live with their mother, Francisco Rios was nowhere to be found, according to Sgt. Gonzalo Gerardo.

Calexico police picked up Rios, 55, near the 2000 block of Rockwood Avenue.

He was booked into the county jail at 11:40 p.m. Friday for brandishing a weapon, Gerardo said. His bail was set at $20,000.
