2 women injured after Anderholt Road rollover

CALEXICO — Two women were injured Sunday night when the truck in which they were traveling overturned on Anderholt Road near here.

According to a California Highway Patrol press release, as the truck, southbound on Anderholt, came out of the curve south of Jasper Road, the driver, Michael Ray Vargas Jr., 21, of Calexico, lost control of the vehicle.

The truck left the roadway and overturned on the west dirt shoulder of Anderholt.

Lupita Lopez, 20, of Calipatria and Cristina Ramirez, 22, of Holtville sustained moderate and minor bruising and were transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center by a Calexico ambulance. Information on their condition was unavailable this morning.

The other passengers, Mario Lopez, 18, and Antonio Lopez, 22, both of Calipatria, and Vargas were treated and released at the scene.
