CALEXICO — A U.S. Border Patrol agent was treated in El Centro Regional Medical Center for minor injuries after his patrol vehicle overturned into a canal near here Saturday.
The agent, whose name was not released this morning, was driving his vehicle on a dirt road south of Anza Road about 10:30 p.m.
According to a California Highway Patrol press release, the agent failed to negotiate a curve, which caused his vehicle to overturn into the canal.
The agent climbed out of the vehicle and canal and waited for emergency personnel to arrive. The agent was taken by a Calexico Fire Department crew to ECRMC.
