Brawley girls basketball camp

Registration is being accepted for the Brawley Union High School girls basketball camp to run July 9-12. The cost is $25 per camper. For more information call Mike Pacheco at 351-2518, James Lofton at 344-1325 or Andy Burnett at 344-7394.

Skating tournament

A skating tournament will start at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Caldwell Park in Calipatria. For more information call 348-2451.

I.V. Wrestling Officials Association

The Imperial Valley Wrestling Officials Association is looking for people interested in officiating high school wrestling. Those interested can contact Dale Ramey at 344-5043 or 344-4420 or Robert Powell at 370-0965.

Open gym

Southwest High School in El Centro will host an open gym from 5-8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays starting Monday and running for the subsequent six weeks. The basketball and weightlifting facilities will be open and the service is free to the public.



Registration for Saturday's races will be from 6-7 p.m.with racing to immediately follow.

Brawley Pop Warner

Brawley Pop Warner will have sign-ups from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday in the Lions Center kitchen. The cost is $60 for football players and cheerleaders. Brawley Pop Warner is accepting applications for cheerleading and football coaches. The deadline to apply is Saturday. Men's basketball


The Calexico Recreation Department is having registration for a men's five-on-five basketball tournament to be staged July 6-7 and July 13-14. The cost is $75 per team. For more information call Jamie at 768-7492.

Men's softball league

Registration is being accepted for the Calexico Recreation Department's men's softball league. The cost is $250 per team. For more information call Jamie at 768-7492.

Southwest High School volleyball camp

The Southwest High School volleyball team will host a volleyball camp from 1 to 5 p.m. July 9-12 in the Southwest gymnasium in El Centro. The camp is open to boys and girls in grades third through ninth and cost is $40 for the first child and $35 for each additional sibling. Proof of insurance is required and campers are asked to take a drink and a snack. For more information call Karen Saikhon at 353-5536.
