Billy Ray Stowe

No services are planned for Billy Ray Stowe, 73, of Las Vegas, who died of natural causes Tuesday.

Mr. Stowe was born Sept. 28, 1927, in Sweetwater, Texas.

He married the former June W. Pace in January 1946 in Yuma.

He worked for Douthitt Steel in El Centro for 30 years as a purchasing agent.

He was a veteran who served in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, June W. Stowe of Las Vegas; sons, William Raymond Stowe of Manchester, Tenn., and James Lee Stowe of San Marcos; daughters, Billie June Stowe of Las Vegas, Wanda Sue Stowe of Imperial and Cecile Ruth Richmond of El Centro; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.


Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday in Frye Mortuary & Chapel in Brawley for Julian Manuel Rodriguez, 47, of Bethel Island, who died of liver failure Wednesday at General Hospital in San Francisco. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m.


Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Tuesday in St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Brawley with the Rev. Roque Vano officiating.

Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Brawley.

Mr. Rodriguez was born Nov. 2, 1953, in Los Angeles and grew up in Brawley.

His parents died when he was young and he was reared by his grandparents, Maria and Julian Hernandez of Brawley.

He graduated from Brawley Union High School in 1972 and later worked in agriculture before moving to the Bay area in the early 1980s.

For the last 20 years he had worked in golf course care and maintenance.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Barbara Rodriguez, in 1955.

Survivors include his grandparents, Maria and Julian Hernandez of Brawley; sisters, Christina Solis of Merced and Mercy Flores of San Diego; uncles, David Hernandez of Palmdale and Frank Hernandez of Brawley; aunts, Delia Arvizu of Brawley, Dolores Garcia of Riverside, Consuelo Ferschwieler of San Diego, Esther Duarte of Brawley and Margarita Funez of Patterson; companion, Sharrion Monrall of Bethel Island; nephews, Manuelito Flores of Sacramento and Adrian and Domonic Solis of Merced; nieces Lisa Odom of San Diego and Barbara Solis of Merced; and several other nieces and nephews.
