Wilkinson joins E.C. chamber

June 30, 2001

Lifelong Imperial Valley resident Kilah M. Wilkinson has joined the El Centro Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau staff as its membership development coordinator.

Wilkinson will focus on expanding the chamber's membership base, creating more value-added benefits for members and coordinating member education programs.

Prior to joining the chamber staff, Wilkinson co-owned and operated for nine years Wilkinson Farms, a laser land-leveling business and small farming operation, with her husband, Steven.

"Kilah is a wonderful addition to our chamber team," said Cathy Kennerson, chamber chief executive officer. "She brings a wealth of knowledge in sales, volunteer work with American Cancer Society and Mount Signal 4-H and overall working alongside the public at large."

"Her experience as a business owner as well as her work during a recent election have brought an enormous network of business contacts and has enthusiasm for performing for the chamber. We are looking forward to Kilah being part of our team," she added.

When asked about her new position, Wilkinson said, "I am so excited to be working with such a professional staff and to work with our community.

"My vision is to see the chamber membership soar and to aggressively promote local business and our city, especially as new and exciting opportunities arrive."

She added her motto for her new duties is, "El Centro Chamber of Commerce: Our business is to be your advocate."

Wilkinson will be working with other chamber staff to coordinate monthly mixers, schedule ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings and assisting chamber members.

Wilkinson lives in El Centro with her husband, Steve, and her two daughters, Samantha and Megan.
