Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Hems Bros. Mortuary chapel in El Centro for Edward De La Cruz Jr., 19, of Harbor City, who died Sunday in El Centro Regional Medical Center, a victim of homicide.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in The Door Christian Fellowship in El Centro. Pastor Thomas Alvarez will officiate.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro.
Mr. De La Cruz Jr. was born Jan. 8, 1982, in El Centro.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward De La Cruz Sr., in September 1982.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Cindy and Nick Rodriguez of Harbor City; brothers, Ruben and Ricky Rodriguez, both of Harbor City; sister, Patty Rodriguez of Harbor City; grandparents, Genaro and Tillie De La Cruz of Oxnard, Nicandro and Paula Rodriguez of San Pedro and Charley Gray of El Centro; uncles, Frank Lopez of El Centro, Ralph and Gene De La Cruz of Oxnard and Edward, Richard and Rick Gray, all of El Centro; and aunts, Gracie Gray of El Centro, Patty Valdez of Tucson and Dahlia and Vicky De La Cruz, both of Oxnard.
MARIA A. LOPEZ
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in Frye Chapel & Mortuary in Brawley for Maria A. Lopez, 91, of Brawley, who died Monday in Pioneers Memorial Hospital in Brawley. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Brawley. The Rev. Roque Vano will officiate.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Brawley.
Mrs. Lopez was born May 28, 1910, in the state of Michoacan, Mexico. She married Teofilo Lopez in Michoacan on Feb. 11, 1931. She came to the Imperial Valley in 1963.
She enjoyed church activities and was a member of Las Guadalupanas church group at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Brawley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Teofilo Lopez, on Dec. 23, 1985.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jose and Cecilia Lopez of Brawley; daughters, Estela, Esperanza and Margarita Lopez, all of Mexico; brothers, Pedro and Gabriel Alvarado, both of Mexico; 35 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
IGNACIO L. URIBE
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in Hems Bros. Mortuary chapel in El Centro for Ignacio L. Uribe, 76, of Heber, who died Monday in Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Heber with the Rev. Angelo Rizoli officiating.
Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Calexico.
Mr. Uribe was born July 7, 1924, in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. He lived in the Imperial Valley for more than 40 years and last worked for Abatti Farms.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen Uribe, in January 1987.
Survivors include his children, Dora Uribe-Ponce of Long Beach, Isabel Uribe-Romero of Imperial, Julian Uribe of San Pedro and Bertha Lynn of Wilmington; brother, Salvador Uribe of Brawley; and 18 grandchildren.
