U.S. Border Patrol agents tracking a group of undocumented immigrants in the west Imperial County desert Friday found the body of a man, thought to be an immigrant.
The body was found in the area of Wixom and Liebert roads at 4:30 p.m., according to county Coroner Investigator Gary Hayes.
The man, whose identity was not available, had been dead likely for two days. Hayes said the man died from heat exposure.
Hayes said the man was thought to be between the ages of 20 and 25.
There was no word from Border Patrol on Saturday as to whether the man was part of the group agents were tracking. There also was no information available on whether agents found that group.
